Especially in the suburbs, it seems like there's not a lot for gay couples to do, short of staying home or going to each other's houses. So, when I recently read about an alternative, I was excited.
Yes, bingo. Not just bingo, though -- it's GAY BINGO, organized by the Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project.
What makes it gay, you ask? Well, for starters, you've got drag queens calling out the numbers and walking through the audience and commenting on random people.
Surprisingly, the crowd was about 40 percent hetero, and the place was packed.
A few friends joined us, and it was a blast. The evening ended on a high note for all of us when one of the friends won the jackpot at the end of the night: $200. They gave $100 back, though, as a contribution.
Oh, by the way, Paul never played bingo until last night, so we all had to show him what to do. Thankfully, he's a quick learner!
