The pinnacle of my athleticism to this day is being able to run six miles. But even when I could do those six miles, I could not do yoga.
Believe me, I tried. I have serious coordination issues, and while I'm aware that it takes practice, I looked like an idiot even in a beginner yoga class. The instructor patiently came to my aid a number of times, and while that was a caring gesture, it advertised to the rest of the class that I am a spaz.
And this is why I like the yoga part of Wii Fit. I can fall over and crash to the floor in total privacy. There's something to be said for that.
Overall, I think the Wii Fit is pretty cool, and it keeps things interesting. I can't see making it the sum total of my exercise — I'll still need to use the elliptical trainer — but I think, between the two, there will be some sort of difference.
It does seem, though, that the Wii is trying to flatter me somehow, because I know this can't be right:
